5 Tips for a Simple Home Office
August 28, 2017
A beautiful home office is something we all want and strive for. It can be the space where you are most productive but it can also be a space where you go to unwind and read that new book you just picked up. Here are a few tips and tricks for creating just the right office environment:
// CONSIDER YOUR LAYOUT
When you’re planning out your space, try to refrain from placing your desk right up against a wall or in the corner of the room. Move your desk closer to a window because you’ll be able to take advantage of some wonderful natural light that will deliver some rays of happiness.
The more clutter you have the harder it will be to stay organized and feel zen in your space.
// GET ORGANIZED
Creating a successful home office is dependent on your level of organization. A good rule of thumb is that anything you use often should be easily accessible. This can be such items as files, supplies, notepads and your planner. We also suggest investing in a cute bookcase that’s big enough for a little bit of office storage and a few decorative items.
The more clutter you have the harder it will be to stay organized and feel zen in your space. Not only should you be keeping your desk free of clutter but you should also periodically sort through and delete files off your computer that you no longer need. Keep your desktop clear and make folders for the files you do need immediate access to.
// GOOD SEATING
This applies if you spend a significant amount of time at your desk every day. You have to make sure your desk chair is supporting your back properly. Alternatively you can try a standing desk.
// PERSONAL TOUCHES
Having a few cute personal touches can help encourage positive energy and good workflow. Put up a few photographs, some inspiration and add a few hints of color. Plants are a great way to do this. The decor and furniture you choose will of course also impact your energy and productivity but definitely put some thought into how you’re going to decorate your space. Collect a few cute picture frames and maybe even put up a pinboard where you can display your inspiration and grand ideas.
