Spring is in the air and we’re offering up our best advice for achieving a spotless home (and mind). If you’re anything like us, you know that spring cleaning can be a daunting task. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and flustered by the idea of doing a big deep cleaning of your home.
That’s why we created the ultimate spring cleaning checklist to help you create a neat, tidy, and organized space. We’ll also share our best tips on how to keep the process as organized and manageable as possible this spring and beyond.
The tips below outline a basic six-week approach that will help you clean almost every surface (or object) in any room, leaving both you and your home feeling refreshed.
WEEK 1: OFFICE
We’ve all heard of the saying “messy bed, messy head”, well the same goes for your desk. This is your chance to recycle any unnecessary clutter.
- Dust desk and shelves
- Organize drawers
- Clean mouse and keyboard
WEEK 2: CLOSETS
Our best tip is to tackle all of your closets at once. Don’t just focus on cleaning and reorganizing, but ensure that everything has a designated place. Get intentional about creating space.
- Organize clothing
- Donate unused items
- Vacuum
WEEK 3: KITCHEN
The kitchen is a big task due to the amount of organizational tasks. Take inventory of all the items, from silverware to small appliances, and then create a plan. The great thing about this approach is that you’ll be able to decide if there’s a better way to arrange things.
- Organize fridge
- Disinfect counters/surfaces
- Clean sink and appliances
WEEK 4: LIVING ROOM
As the main space in your home, the living room needs a bit more attention. In addition to cleaning surfaces, it’s time to declutter or even rearrange the decor to give the room a refresh.
- Organize and tidy all surfaces
- Wash or change curtains
- Wipe down baseboards
WEEK 5: BEDROOM
Similar to the living room, the bedroom is probably most in need of deep cleaning and a bit of reorganization.
- Dust tables, vents, and light fixtures.
- Wash or change bedding
- Organize side tables/drawers
WEEK 6: ENTRYWAY
Now that all the main spaces in your home are clean and organized, it’s time to move on to the entryway.
- Vacuum and mop floors
- Clean or change rug
- Organize decor
