If you're working from home over the next little while, we're here to help you get it done. We put together a few things to help you be your most productive (at home) self!

At first, working from home might seem like a dream: no commute, no distracting coworkers, and think of all the chores you’ll be able to sneak in!

But after the novelty wears off, things get real. It can be lonely. Your home suddenly doesn’t feel as big anymore. And there’s no real end to the work day.

Here are some tips to stay well-balanced:

USE A PLANNER

In addition to making to-do lists, get in the habit of using a planner. You can plan each day, week, or month ahead of time, and keep track of deadlines, zoom calls, and break times. Because it’s the start of a new quarter, we recommend the Get It Done Planner or the Daily Journal.

TAKE BREAKS

Hitting the pause button throughout the work day can increase productivity. Stepping away from your work for breaks is part of being productive; it actually gives you time and space to gain perspective and come up with answers or solutions. You can even schedule breaks in your planner as you would for lunch hour at the office.

TO-DO LISTS

 It can be challenging to keep track of what you have to do throughout your work day, let alone planning the day in general. It’s easy to lose sight of priorities, tasks, and deadlines. To-do lists help us to set goals and time limits for each task. After you complete each task, cross it off the list. This simple technique is both effective and fulfilling.
